Hybrid-Tech
I want to build a Poor-Man Type R engine. Here's the plan; CTR Pistons, ITR Cams, B16 Head, and B18C1 Block. Is there a write up on this? Any tips would be nice. Thanks
Ah, just my kind of guy. I had the exact same setup before I went turbo. But I had an LS block. But I love hybrids.
CTR pistons
ITR cams
Skunk valve train
RC 310cc Injectors
It's a really nice setup, just be careful with the spark plugs because you'll have clearence issues with the pistons being really high. I just used washers on my plugs and I didn't have any problems. Also, get some good strong motor mounts. Those pistons definatly torque that motor back and it will slam right into your hood. I know from experience. The last thing is, I hope that you have some money to pay for the gas, those CTR pistons don't like 91 octane, they like race gas. You might get some detination.

USDM or JDM ITR or JDM P30. The PCT-X's are heavier and you probably won't like the shorter piston-to-deck height they produce; especially if you deck the block, even just a little.
