Default How to update PGM-FI software?

Due to a P0404 code I need to replace my EGR valve and update the software. Is it possible for an owner to download and update the software?
Thanks to this forum for providing the TSB for this issue.

Yes.

You need to purchase a subscription to Honda Service ,a "clean" battery charger(A charger suitable for programming/flashing modules), HDS software and an HDS interface. (MVCI, Mongoose, etc....) All total, roughly about $3k-$4k to get set up.

Or pay $100-$150 to a shop that is already set up.....

(If you have an early 2000s Honda or older, you must replace the PCM as they are not reflashable)
