Default How to remove a stripped screw?

I am trying to replace a burnt out foglight in my dads 02 4runner, and the one of the screws stripped really badly. The screwdriver just turns circles without budging the at all. They are pretty small screws, but i was wondering if there is anything else i can do to get it out? I dont know if there are any pliars that small. Thanks in advance

Is there any way you can cut a slot into the head of the screw, say with a hacksaw blade, dremmel? If so, make a slot and use a flat head. If you cant get to it, try (using a new screwdriver, or at least one in good condion, ie. the tip is not rounded.) putting the screwdriver in place and tap it with a hammer. Then pushing the screwdriver with both hands, and all your weight, try turning back and forth until it cracks then turn it out. If course, your not going to want to tap it if it goes through glass of plastic. If that doesnt work, I guess your gonna have to drill it.
Hope you didnt read all that for nothing!

If there are least some kind of slots still left in the screw head, an impact driver may be able work it loose. It won't work if the screw is mounted on something soft like a plastic bumber though. Otherwise, as stated there's drilling and extracting. The slotting method is worth trying, but I have never had much luck doing it that way.

use an easy out. you drill a small hole in it then put the easy out in and drill with that, they're at sears and places like that

Easy-outs are screw extractors. For clarification, just a different name.
