how to remove the snap ring from h22 tranny
i'm installing a lsd. i know i'm soppuse to take off the snap ring in order to take the case apart but how do i do that?? am i just soppuse to spread it apart? i did that and it allow me to loose half of the tranny but not the other. any sugguestion????

you have to get two screw drivers in either side and get the case at least starting to seperate. Then spread the clip and pry the case evenly apart. Just did it last night

once the ring is spread the counter shaft should fall out enough so that it doesnt hold it in there .....if your doing it withth etranny on its side then it wont work to easy ...tip it so the snap ring is on the top ..(put somthign under the tranny so the input shaft isnt touching the floor .....doth forget the 2 14mm bolts around the shifter area...all the resat are 12mm around the out side
then youll have to pry up on the case in a few spots to break the seal ..then it shoudl lift off ..

getting it back on is another story lol . i would drop the case on and when it was as close dow i would tilt it on its side (carfully ) and use the snap ring pliers (there really needer to get it back on ) and kind tossi it side to side in hope the bareing seat in and the shaft locks in

you make it sound hard............
while lowering the case, spread the sanp ring over the bearing, install case bolts, flip tranny over and listen for the click..........
or the He-Man method, instead of turning the tranny over, lift and drop quickly.
Turning the tranny on it's side is asking for a leak while the sealant is setting up.
