how much to do to remove head??
i have a d15b7, and i have to remove my head, do i really have to take the rocker arm and cam all out to remove my head, or can i just take off the valve cover then take out the bolts?? thanks
i know the order to take the bolts out, i just want to know how many parts i have to remove in order to access those bolts, my manual says its a hell of a lot, but im hoping that it is a small bit easier.

drain coolant drain oil
take off valve cover and upper timing belt cover
remove air inlet tube
pull off upper radiator hose
loosen timing belt tensioner - pull timing belt off cam gear
unbolt intake manifold support braket - 2 bolts underneath the manifold (you can either take the whole manifold off or leave it on)
for intake manifold:
remove all hoses and fuel line, unplug all electric plugs, remove throttle cable
remove 2 electric plugs underneath the distributor - again you can either leave the distributor on or off
remove fan - clears room for moving exhaust manifold
unplug o2 sensor
unbolt exhaust manifold from block - loosen the 3 bolts on the bottom portion of the exhaust manifold - again so you can move the manifold out of the way
remove head bolts from outside to inside in a criss-cross pattern, do it in small increments - like 3 whole sets to get them loose.
pry off head upwards
scrape gasket off and replace
to assemble reverse order.
i think thats it

good answer chum!
in the HELMS, it notes to remove the head bolts in 1/3 turns each. Do this switching from the pair at each end to the other end then to the next inner pair and lastly the central pair. continue to remove the bolts in that pattern, only 1/3 turn at a time for each bolt until they are coming out freely.. this is to reduce chances of warping the head.
