DOes anybody have a good website that shows you how to remove a head correctly??? or a good wirte up?? i tried searching but came up with "NOTHING"
the intake manifold does NOT need to be removed. It is much MUCH easier to pull it with it attached to the head, THEN disassemble it.
1. Remove valve cover
2. Remove timing belt(or take it off the pulleys and lay it to the side).
3. Remove all Hoses & wiring that connect to the throttle body, and various other places.
4. If you have a B18C motor, you need to pull your cams to get to the bolts Otherwise remove all the bolts.
5. Follow The correct loosening & tightening sequence

Go here and download the Helms manual on .pdf form. Then read up on the procedures to remove the head. Good luck!

dont worry so much about taking it off. Make sure that you label everythig, IE plugs, wires, ETC. Then take your time putting it all back together.
It took me about 2 hours to take the head off. And about 12 to put it back on.

well, I was being very particular with everthing. Just because I didn't want to **** up my type-R. Yeah there were quite a few cig breaks. It took us a while to get the crank pulley off. I actually had to take it to a diesel place to use there impact gun! PITA!
But really I wanted the TDC and all that to be just perfect. I figure its worth the extra time to get it done, rather than create more issues.
