How to make the Vtec work?
I have a 1997 Civic Lx and i just installed a 95 Si (canadian) because i blew up the stock engine and while my ls/vtec project is in work i need a ride to go work...... and i would like to know how to connect the VTEC.
I've kept my OBD2 wiring harness and my stock ECU and i'm using them for my 95 Si engine.
What do i need to make the VTEC work....should i get a 92-95 Si ECU (but i think i will need to modify my harnness) or simply install a switch to control my Vtec manually ( but after one day i'll get pissed)..???????
Please help
Thanx

one of my friend told me to plug a wire on the wire of the vtec selonoid and feed it with 12 volt with a fuse between the 12 volt and tghe vtec wire with a witch at the end.
Is this possoible....i don't mind to activate the vtec manually....just tell me if it's possible or not

Yes, it'll work, but thats super ghetto. I just bought a vafc. Any vtec controller will work. Plus you dont really want to flip a switch every time you want vtec. Thats absolutely rediculous.
You will have a check engine light though. You see, your obd2 brain wants to see the signal from the crank shaft fluctuation sensor. Its the one bolted to the stock oil pump with wires running up towards the intake manifold. To make the obd1 engine work, you will need to install an oil pump for a 96-up engine. It'll fit just fine but it will also have the provision for mounting your sensor from the exploded motor. Also, you'll need to use the obd2 injectors because the plugs are different from obd2 to obd1.

Yeah i know it's ridiculous......but it's only temporary.....and as i say i have a Ls/vtec in construction.
So you say it will work with a switch....cool.......i'll try to arrange that.
Anyone know if there is a website providing diagram on the installation?

All you need is a conversion harness (OBD11-OBD1). i actually have a 98 LX, was going to do swap, but decided to put up for sale, & start on a new car. good luck!
yeah lot of people told me that (harness conversion from OBD2 to OBD1)...but i don't want to waste money on that...and i don'T know how to convert it.
I have the stock ECU inside my car the one coming with my D16Y7...all i know my friend could give me his P28 ecu.
What do i need to convert the harness.....again and again is there a website showing that?
