How important is airr intake temp sensor???

Default How important is airr intake temp sensor???

would a broken or faulty one cause a loss of power?

how about a 20 hp loss in the top end?

Theoretically it is possible. The car may have switched to limp mode or have retarded the timing enough to explain the excessive loss of horsepower.

I know from testing I have seen that Hondas lose a lot of power with high intake temps. Assuming it defaults to a setting for high temp, I could see a big decrease in power. It would run rich and pull a lot of timing.
