How to hook up vtec?
I have a sohc from a 95 del sol dropped into a 4th gen civic. i was wondering if anyone knew how to hook to vtec up through a relay or how to hook it up to the switch light? if so please reply to this post or send me an e-mail uneeklady@hotmail.com
here an easy way to do it...
ignition power source(12V) to a fuse(10amp) to fog light switch to VTEC solenoid. IF you want to work like how it is suppose to work, take to pro to do your wiring.

thats the thing I already paid a guy that supposably knew how to do it, he was from Versus motorsports and well comes to find out my v tec isnt hooked up... so since i already went through all that I wanted to see how i can do it myself. I appreciate the post. do you happen to have or know where a step tp step guide is at? thanx
The best thing of course would be to convert to OBD1 and use a P28 ECU but that isn't always an option for some people. The next would be to get a VAFC or Field's VTEC controller. This way you will be able to control a little fuel tuning as well as the VTEC. Then last on the list would be a RPM switch (MSD, Summit, etc.), you can get these from about $30 or so. This will give the VTEC a 12V+ signal at a given RPM setting. If you decide to go with the RPM activated switch, it would be setup like this:
