How the hell do you seperate the tranny from the engine?
Is there a trick to it?
I took a crowbar to it and it wouldn't budge.
Are there hidden bolts?
Does it have to be in a certain gear?
TDC on the engine?
Help!

Sounds to me like you missed a bolt. Check over the entire tranny housing VERY thouroghly, and don't forget to remove the starter before you remove the tranny! Once you have every bolt off, the tranny should slide right out (did for me).
Ok, I got the engine and tranny seperated. However, I still have a little problem. The shift rod is secured by a little alligator-toothed rod thingy. How do you get that out?

that pin was the worst part for me, took an hour, I should have just drilled the bastard out or flipped th ecar over to just use a sledgehammer on it.
good luck!
good luck!
#1- Acquire stick of dynamite
#2- Place dynamite in stategic location between the pin and the shifter rod
#3- light dynamite fuse
#4- Run like there's no tomorrow
Pin should pop right out

Yeah, I have the tranny sitting on the ground now but that little bastard pin doesn't want to budge. Am going to try the brute force method again today, and if it doesn't come out I'll need to get creative
The only way I got that ******* bitch pin out was by dropping the tranny with the shift rod still attached and using a punch and a 10lbs sledge hammer and just pounding the **** out of it. Even with the sledge it still took about 5-6 good wacks before the pin started moving.
I usually drop the tranny with the shifter rod attached and work around it, unless you have to split the tranny case, then it must be removed..
