ive got an ebay knockoff, it sounds great.

a muffler is a muffler is a muffler, they arent that ******* HIGH TECH of a part to worry about paying a shitload for. Its just a ******* canister with stuffing in it.
just look at the picture of it, does it looks like cheap build quality? then yeah, its probly cheap build quality.

they might not be quit as high quality as a 200fucking dollar muffler,

but still there are plenty of ppl running ebay mufflers with no problems.

I'd say the megan canister mufflers are an awesome deal as well http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW - not quite as cheap as the one you linked to , but no where near the "heres my arm and leg" apexi N1 . A friend of mine just bought one(megan)- nice welds- nice muffler 2.5" inlet hasn't put it on yet, so i cant comment on the sound. You guys wanna see a crappy muffler / exhuast welds- check out any pacesetter system - MY GOD- i saw one brand new up close and personal recently- It looked like they hired a ten year old blind kid to weld it together!

and have you heard one compared to yours .. on your car??? exhaust note is more than a muffler- if a motor is restricted, then it will sound blatty/raspy. I've got a cheap no name canister that came on my car(b16 swap) - i would bet its a ebay knockoff- its sounds sweet- and i hate a raspy exhaust. the ones on ebay will more than likely sound a little different than the apexi- but because of muffler size, not because of " better quality" heck if i wanted a sound close to apexi- id go with a magnaflow universal- quite a few around the dimensions of an apexi- sorry but paying $200 for a name sucks to me

$28 is REALLY cheap. When something is that cheap, its probably poor quality. J

ust poke holes in your stock muffler.

DO NOT forget to add in shipping, usually if a part is very cheep, shipping more than makes up for it. Also, don't buy just the muffler. If you weld it on a pipe that used to support an oval muffler, your new one will be pointing down.
Got to do it right and get at least an axel-back.

raspiness will come from not having a cat,
if you have a good working catalytic converter, or high flow cat, your exhaust wont have the raspiness or buzziness.

And the resonators you have on the piping make a huge difference.

i had a tiny 6" long resonator removed from my ITR piping im using on my exhaust, it got alot louder, and theres still a big like 15" long one on there, along with my hiflo cat and ebay muffler

sounds really smooth now, not too loud, not too soft, not high pitched not low pitched.. just perfect..

actually alittle too perfect, a lil bore there.

Umm i can tell my exhaust guy to weld extra pipe on. In NZ most people get custom built exhaust systems opposed to ready built systems.

Yeah the shipping is like twice the price of the muffler so that probably makes the muffler appear cheaper than it is.

My car doesn't have a cat. (cats not required on NZ cars ) I have 2 relatively large silencers on my system right now. Currently I have a really small N1 muffler (around 10") long and its really loud and thats because of the small size and barrel size.

Should be sweet with a bigger N1 muffler.
