Default How good is this muffler?

Hi, i've been in the market for a muffler and I've come across this particular one on EBay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33636

Now im from New Zealand, but does this muffler sound rediculously cheap? I know its a no brand muffler but hey its only a muffler. Has anyone used or heard of these mufflers? $27.95USD sounds + $45 shipping to NZ. That just really suprises me the shipping is almost twice the price of the muffler. I just want some opinions before I buy one.

Any opinions appreciated.
Cheers

I already have a 2.25" mandrel bent system. The only reason why i need a new muffler is my RSR one broke. I'm asking because I have no idea about the relative prices in USA. Im from New Zealand.

VerySlowCivic: So are you saying the quality is good or bad. I dont really care about sound as there is a silencer. I just want to know the weld quality and to know it wont fall apart after a few months. Anyone actually using them? Whats the market value for a new branded muffler in the States these days?

Thanks

You serious? I know all you guys are like JDM this JDM that so you get all the branded stuff but Im just wondering if these would probably do the same trick. Cmon own up. Who's got an Ebay muffler? And tell me your experience with them or your friend's.

But it comes with a detachable silencer. I will only take it off for track use.

More feedback required. Ebay muffler users dont be shy.

Yeah, and look at how restrictive it is. I say you will lose at least 5 horsepower with the silencer installed

Yeah but its on the street so it doesnt really matter. Here you can get pinged for having an excessively loud car. I have 2 resonators in my system already.

the raspyness isnt completely the mufflers fault people run mufflers without resonators i say go for it a mufflers a muffler if its str8 through its all good. but it seems like it would be loud but it also comes with a silencer lol. i bet it wont sound too bad because you already have a resonator in the rsr system.

Yeah because I thinking all straight through mufflers have a similar design. Only the materials its built out of and the packing affects the sound. You cant really go wrong with the design, its only the quality im worried about. Dont want something that falls apart in a few months.

coffeecan design isn't all that complicated - it doesn't matter if it's a knockoff of not. i have a full length knockoff exhaust off of ebay and it runs fine. only problem is that it's gonna sound hella rice compared to your rs-r.

My RSR is one of those box design things. It was quite quiet but it sounded tinny and i found that there is a big hole on the back of it where the pipe joins up to the muffler. Everyone knows that N1 style can mufflers are loud because they are straight through. Im running 2 resonators so hopefully raspiness wont be a problem. Thats what the silencer is there for.

Ebay mufflers are great for the total $50 you spend with shipping. TIG'd and all SS, cant beat it for $50.
