This is the lower ball joint. I need the WHOLE thing to come out of the knuckle so I can replace it. The bottom threads are BAD!

Re-thread it.

 

You might want to buy a ball-joint remover tool from an auto parts store such as NAPA or Pep-Boys. It'll be easier to remove that way.

 

you press it up, out of the knuckle. You have to remove the axles to do this but its really not that hard if you have a press. If you don't have the proper tools though don't F' with it. I had a small mom n' pop garage do it for like $35 a side.

You have to get it pressed out at your local automotive shop. They have tools to do it there. I dont think you can do it on your own, unless you have a press.

 

Rent a ball joint press - remove the knuckle from the car - should take you about 20 minutes for the whole job.
