Default How do you remove rounded over nuts?

Its on the shock tower in the back, (the one inside the plastic cover in the hatch area)... EDIT-Does a nutbreaker work effectively? I tried it one time on something else and it messed up the bolt

hmm, maybe a socket and JB Weld, cost you a couple bucks though (considering the socket will be "disposable")

snap a pair of vise grips on them...that will break it loose.

oo, I had the same problem. Tried sooo many things to get it loose, including things people said here.

Socket + jb weld, vice grips, etc

What I got that eventually got it out with ease is this

i got a set of those sockets from Matco. They work really good, and its a lot easier than trying to use vise grips and all the other stuff.

yeah if the vice grips dont work THIS WILL... try this be4 you buy all those tools and crap

get a dremmel with a thin cutting disk and put a nice deep slot accross the f***** up bolt...then unscrew it like it was a regular screw...with a flathead screwdriver of course

and if your not strong enough to loosen it by hand
get an impact driver (looks like a screw driver but you hit the end with a BFH and it turns it for you, had to use one on my brake disk screws)

go buy a cheap 12pt socket from kragen or something, make sure its a little smaller than the bolt size, hammer if down on the stripped bolt, then take the bolt off.

Use a nutbreaker. It'll either cut it enough so it breaks, or you can turn the nutbreaker...and therefore the nut.

Yeah, I tried both those ideas. (I had the same stripped nut that you have).

The hammering on a smaller socket just messed it up more, and the nutsplitter had clearance problems.

What I suggested before will work.
