how do you check for a bent shift fork

how do you check for a bent shift fork

like the title says, any help appreciated. thanks guys

go under the car and look at the shift fork. that's the easiest. it's right there going from the tranny to the shifter.

I think he means the shift fork inside the transmission.

yea, he prob means in tranny. u'll hafta open up ur tranny to get to the insides

you don't............

You have to drop out the tranny, then split it apart. While sitting there with tranny inyards about, replace the shifter forks if you question them!!!!!

On SOHC trannys I usually have 1 1-2 fork on hand because theys always need replaced.

I've broke 3 myself.
