Default How do you break in motor for first start

After rebuilding a motor how do you guys get it ready for the first start? Do you remove all sparkplugs, crank the engine until oil pressure is up. Then when you start the car up do you let it idle? or do you keep it steady at a high rpm like 3000?

when driving it, dont get on it till about 500-1000 miles. in other words, dont go past, lets say...3000 rpms.

you should run the car at moderate (2k-3k) rpms on initial start up for several minutes while keeping an eye on everything else(overheating, oil press., etc)
