Default How do i time My D16??..

Im so close to getting it running but after reinstalling both Timing belt and water pump, i think i might have turned the crank a bit..Now when i crank it is not have a familiar crank..it sounds different...How do i go about timing it right??

you need a honda service manual to set your timing correctly.

or at the very least a haynes/chilton manual that u can get at local autoparts stores(those do not have nearly as much info as the real deal helms manual though).

they can tell u how to set ur cam/crank timing.
you'll also need a timing light for ignition timing.

If the crank moved, why didn't you just move it back to TDC? It's not like there's some kind of secret here.

1. Set #1 piston to TDC
2. Make sure the cam gear timing marks are parallel to the head
3. Install belt.

I dont have any marks how the Chiltons says(white Mark) to set the crank to TDC...I know the cam timing is correct upbut how else can i tell if im settin it to TDC

There have to be marks on the crank pulley. Even aftermarket pullies have the marks.

There should be three close together, then one spaced farther apart. Like this:

The mark by itself (on the right) is the TDC mark.

yeah, often times the white or red in the marks wears off with time and ur just left with grooves.

look at the positioning of the grooves not the color

Ok i got the car running starts great, but the response is very bad...Does not revv up like it use to......Took it for a test ride and its alot slower when i get on it..Any suggestions.

ur cam timing could still be off by a tooth or two

triple check ur cam/crank timing and ignition timing.
