Default How do I relocate the battery?

I want to put my battery in my trunk. I'm going for the empty engine bay look and I plan on relocating the battery and removing my PS pump.

I plan on running 2guage wire from the front of the car to the back and using a leak proof Olympia battery. Is there an easy path to route the cable and how do I ground the battery....just find good chassis ground?

-Steve

The purpose in relocating a battery is for traction.......on RWD.....if you add more weight in the rear you will loose traction.

However, to do it you just get good quality connectors and extend the cable through the firewall along the door seem and pop out behind the seats.......better find a place to anchor that thing.

uggg..there is more to just drag races in life, you know? The idea is not only to even out the weight distribution more, for more neutral cornering, but to clear up some room in the engine compartment. You should mount it on the passenger side of the trunk to offset the weight of driver/steering/etc.

If you have a hatchback or wagon, get a vented battery box. If you plan on racing NIRA, you have to have the vented battery box, and a kill switch on the back of the vehicle. So keep that in mind.
