Default How to break-in a resurfaced rotors?

I have my rotors resurfaced and I am keeping my old pads. How should I correctly break the pads and rotors in?

by replacing the pads and driving with normal city conditions for atleast 200 miles. if your rotors were bad enough to need resurfacing, than your pads are grooved to fit the rotors the way they were when they were all grooved/warped. you will now have a very small percent of friction surfaces to actually stop your car. it is unsafe! you can get oe replacement pads for less than $30 i think from your local auto parts store...

S8P is definitely correct. The first thing they teach you in auto class is that pads and rotors are wear items and wear to each others pattern. It is cheapest in the long run and safest to replace both at the same time. As far as being unsafe... some may beg to differ depending on severity of warping but you will definitely burn your rotor up way before you would with new pads.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=574173 read my whole story....the rotors and pads are only 2 months old, pads and rotors look completely flat.

after reading the first part that im wondering on why you think you have warped rotors.
do you think you have warped rotors when you braked hard at 95mph and
felt some vibrations on the brake pedal? if thats the case the rotors arent
warped, its jus your abs working.

as far as braking in brake parts, rotor and pad. jus drive on it for about
100 miles without hard braking, jus normal stop go like a granny.

one mroe thing, you can never tell if a rotor is warped by jus looking at it,
unless its warp to hell.

Of course, I dont mean the ABS working. Just after that panic stop my brakes were not as before. So after disscussing it here, I assumed it will be just little warped (that I can feel it in higher speeds) or there will bve some film on the rotor surface. In both cases, resurfacing should be the best resolution.

yea jus take a little off the rotor and slap the old pads back on, wont harm a thing.
i've done it and with several mountian passes no problem.

To speed up the old pad to new rotor break-in period, you can cut the new rotors slightly more coarse so they'll seat the pad sooner.
