I was looking into buying an ek, but it doesn't have power steering. I prefer having power steering so i was wondering how i would go about adding it if I do decide to buy this car.

 

go to the junk yard and buy all the parts associated with the PS system. bolt them on and fill it up with fluid.

most of it:
-pump
-pump bracket
-resevior
-resevior mount bracket
-rack
-various pipes and hoses
-belt
-fasteners, clips and other small brackets

it wouldn't be a bad idea to get new rack boots and tie-rod ends while you're at it. also, most of the clips may break if you pull this from the junk yard so you'll need to get those from honda.

fair warning, there is a lot of work involved in doing this "conversion." it's also likely to cost you a fair amount of cash even with discounted, used parts. most folks would just buy a car with P/S equipped.

 

Ok thanks for the help. I'm going to get one with power steering already then, seems like a much better idea.

 

Step one : Remove resevior cap
Step two : Pour in fluid
Step three : Replace reservior cap

J/K source the parts at a local junkyard or you can try and find then on car-part.com most junkyards will ship if it is to far to drive.

Is the subframe different for ps vs manual rack ek's?

I know on EF's it's different and you can't use a manual subframe with a ps rack...

 

They're the same. I used that link exactly. Used my same subframe and everything bolts up great.
