hondata
holy hell, I am so confused by the Hondata website. With the stage 2 or3 it says that it has full tunability with a dealer or a stage 4 owner????? wtf?? Does this mean that hondata is worthless unless you get a stage 4 or what?
It means a stage 4 owner can tune your stage 2 or 3. If you happen to know someone with Hondata stage 4, they can tune their car for you.
A dealer can tune all the Hondata stages as well.
I'm pretty sure that's right?

so if I take my fully blown civic to Roper Honda, with a stage 3, they can tune it to even for boost and such?
a honda dealer or a honDATA dealer?

http://hondata.com/contact.html has a list of dealers.. one is in your state... you should be able to purchase everything needed from the dealer too..
if dealer don't have a dyno, they usualy have access to one
if to do it yourself.. and know what you're doing - you could mess up the motor

If I bought the hondata stage3 w/boost could I tune myself to a certain degree??

you can upgrade to a stage 4 and be able to tune the hondata kit yourself.

hondata is NOT tunable by the average person even with a stage 4.
your gonna need extensive knowledge of the entire ignition and fuel system plus know how to read the **** the hondata unit gives you. do NOT ATTEMPT TO TUNE IT YOURSELF unless you have multiple gauges at your disposal.
The stages are going away anyway. Get the S200 system. It's basically the same thing, but with minor changes. I think it works out to a lower pricetag and more conveneince too.
basically you need someone with the software to get you a program to run with... then this program must be burnt onto a chip. your best bet is to call up a hondata dealer tell em your engine and they can set you up with a basemap that you can start with... then try to get your car dynoed at a place that does hondata so they can burn a new chip for you
