High flow cats not good for passing smog?

 

They will pass. Magnaflow states in their sales pitch. They state that it is a nice replacement for OEM cats that have failed the smog check.

 

for even more assurance. my mustang stock had 6 cats (3 on each side). my magnaflow cat/pipe with 2 (1 on each side) didn't even compare to the stock one.
my stock one BARELY passed (it actually hit the "MAX" value on one of the values).
the magnaflow ended up with around average (some below avg, some above avg)

it'll pass the sniffer. i dunno if the cat visually can pass, as magnaflow has "regular" high flow cats and "carb compliant" high flow cats.
