high compression on 93 octane
i tried searching for this, but could not find enough helpful information. i'm going to being ruuning a b18c1 block w/ ctr pistons all on a b16 head...according to c-speed the compression ratio is about 11.76:1. know how safe am i running that on 93 octane. right now i have a skunk2 program and a v-afc for tuning purposes. will this all be possible without detonating bad or should i run lower compression??? thanks in advance
You will be fine with 93 octane, 92 still ok but not as good. DO NOT put anything less than 92 in the car!!! I would put a couple of bottles of octane booster in the spare tire area just incase you get caught in a jam and need the extra octane.
thanks for the reply. the only thing that i was wondering is if i'm going to detonate in low rpm's because of the skunk2 program...it runs pretty aggressive low rpm timing. the only really tuning device that i have right now is the v-afc, but i was just wondering if i was going to safe w/ this set-up. thanks again for the reply
now you have me stumped on the low rpm stuff??? That is a good question. I have a project exactly the same as yours being built currently (except my block is a B18C5
).
