HELPPPP
Can't seem to get this figured out. first off, my only serious mod is my 12.5:1 pistons. I've had a dyno tune by a very reputable tuner and I have taken it back to see if he could figure it out, he couldn't find anything wrong with the tune. I'm using 93 octane and NGK 7's (they look normal) I previously had a bad starter and ground that kept killing batteries, figured i should mention that since i suspect it's an electrical issue.
The issue: the car keeps randomly hitting fuel cutout. It's at it's worst when I'm just trying to hold a steady pace. It used to only do it then, and only at lower speeds but now it doesn't matter how fast or if I'm accelerating. It will cut out for up to 4-5 seconds at a time. I'll be on the gas and it's like the car doesn't recognize that, then all of a sudden it does and the car flies forward. I've noticed it runs richer while I'm steadily cruising on days its acting up (12-13) vs the days when it runs good (stays within the 14's for the most part). If i get on it really hard it doesn't skip a beat, even on days that it's running horribly.
Also, the issue is growing more persistent but it's not something it does EVERY time I drive it. Prime example: it was acting up really bad the whole way to my tanning place today, and by bad I mean fuel cutout about every 15 seconds. I was in and out of there in 15 mins. Then I drove to work and it ran flawlessly then entire way...
I'm completely lost. I've got someone letting me borrow a dizzy tomorrow to see if that might fix it. Has anyone had this issue and fixed it? From what I read on forums it's really hard to track down the cause, most of them didn't end with a solution. The 2 that did said ICM and dizzy so I'm trying that first

Update: I tried calibrating the TPS. After that the jerking around bs stopped for the next 2 days drove it 150 miles and it was fine. Left a friends house and it started again, tapped on the tps and it got a little better. 2 miles later it died at a light and wouldn't start. I replaced the coil and it fired right up but the jerking has come back. Anyone have a clue?
Maybe try using a different tps...
I've also heard horror stories like this and it was a bad ecu. Wouldnt hurt to attempt to borrow a ecu from someone and see if its the culprit.
I have a feeling when you replaced the coil, it was just coincidence it started, I dont think it was related unless there is withholding of info.

The coil definitely wasn't a coincidence. I was gonna change the ICM a week before this happened and there was no red dust when I took the cap off and after it died there was dust. It hasn't died since. Also when I tried calibrating the tps before i couldn't get it to read lower than .53 volts at CT (should be .45-.5) so I picked one up from a friend, calibrated it and adjusted my throttle cable (which had a stripped nut btw, got a new one though but that was probably part of the problem) and it's been running perfect for about a week now so I guess that was it :]
