HELP>>>very high idle..
I have done a search on this subject and came up with somethings to try.. but maybe this happened to someone and can give me a direct answer..
I DISCONNECTED MY BATTERY..I was upgrading my ignition.. I purchased the wrong MSD distributor cap.. I did not know this until I had removed the stock cap, removed the solenoid, spliced the wires and was ready to install the MSD cap.. Long story short.. I put all the wires back the way they go, put back the solenoid, RECONNECTED MY BATTERY... and went to start my car..
Now this is were i think I messed up.. I turned the car on and GAVE IT GAS.. (yes I am aware now that this is a stupid thing to do.. but at the time I had no idea).. anyways my car jumps to 3500 rpm when warming up.. the weather here is about 45 degrees if that means anything.. the battery was disconnected for about 2 hours.. anyway I did a search on Honda-tech and read about the don't give it gas thing and also read about resetting the ecu.. so last night i unplugged the battery pressed the break a couple of times to use up any volts lingering around, and let it sit overnight.. this morning I plugged it back in and it did the same thing It went straight to 3500 rpm.. Now should I just let it sit there and wait till it warms up?.. could it be that the ECU is reprogramming itself? It used to warm up at around 1000 rpm or so..
here is a little more info on the car..
