Help with tranny fluid with kaaz lsd
Im getting a 95 jdm itr tranny, and it has a kaaz lsd in it. I was told by the seller that I had to use kaaz tranny fluid or i will ruin the lsd. Is this true? I went on the site and the fluid was a 80w 90. Can I get another brand with the same 80w 90 or does kaaz only make this?! I want to have everything so when my tranny gets here I can put it in. If I do need the kaaz fluid, I need to get it ordered so it will be here when my tranny is. Also I was told by the seller that I had to change the fluid every 6 months? Whats the deal on this? Is this true?
The tranny is going in a 96 gsr, and I have never done a tranny swap before. So if anyone knows of all the stuff I need to round up for the swap. It would be greatly appreciated.

I used the Kaaz fluid for the break in, then drained per instructions. Refilled with Kaaz fluid again for first 3,000 miles. Now running Coastal (Autozone brand) 80w90 gear oil and 3 oz. of Limited Slip additive.
Kaaz LSD always feels HARSH when cold, some chatter after backing out of driveway. Once tranny oil is warmed up all is good. The ONLY problem I've had some far, is going arond corners in the wet. LSD lock under power, inside tire start spinning. I will NEVER try to drive in the snow with current setup.

I have a mechanical LSD like the KAAZ (Spoon Sports) and yeah some chatter is common with them but make sure you run the right fluid and you can put in a additive to the fluid to eliminate a lot of it. Also you definetly should change it a lot more often than regular tranny fluid. Definetly worth the extra hassle
My tranny is used, so can i get away with using that coastal gear fluid from auto zone when i put my tranny in? Does autozone carry that limited slip additive also??
How often should I change the tranny fluid once i install this tranny? How much does that kaaz fluid run? And where is a good place to get it?
That sucks that driving in the snow is not good, cuz it snows up here in Idaho!

Maybe you should let Dietz automotive install the tranny. While you're at it put a 3 puck ceramic faced plate in there with a super high sprung hub... mate that to the lightest flywheel you can and then drive like a mad man for about 3k. Then when your final drive shatters you can do this all over again!!!! (sergio likes this!!!

Personally I use the Redline brand fluid, but any brand that is specifically made for gear type LSD's should be fine. Also I change my fluid every other oil change (between 5000 and 6000 miles).
Advanracing62 what is the problem with Dietz automotive??? I have heard that they do extremely good work and have always come highly recommended to me by numerous people here in Bosie.

what part of my post did you not get? Perhaps it was the mis-match of a clutch to the car it was being put it in...... But who's to say?
HMMMmmm,, Ok I guess that I am missing something and out of the loop with the whole Dietz Automotive thing. So enlighten me fellow Boise people what's up with them???? Something bad that I have not heard about yet, a$$hole, thief, or something of that nature??? What is the problem??
Well it might be because the GENIUS that was driving the car figured that they could just go out and abuse his/her Honda, thinking that since they now have this "racing clutch" it can/will take anything thrown at it. Also let's not forget that he/she more an likely demanded to have such an extreme clutch be put in without fully understanding the full costs of going to that extreme. I know for a fact that my ACT 4puck is not meant to be driven on the street but I did it anyways and I fully understand what may happen to my clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, and all other related components that are attached. If said person did not want any mechanical problems then they should have purchased and installed a stock clutch.Sorry if this upsets you but I was just asking what was the problem with Dietz and not a smarta$$ comment .
Well let's say that some stunna goes in there and needs a clutch replaced... Doesn't know **** about his car but knows that he wants it to go.... Gets a 4 puck installed and his tranny rebuilt.... off he goes.... Then who's fault is it? The stunna for wanting something that will be applicable to future upgrades? or the seller who should have took a moment to ponder just how much HP this car will produce. I'm sure by now you know who this person is, and we all know that NA that car would be mid 200 at best... Type R clutch disk is more than sufficient and more cost effective.

Before the word of the days was "puppet master" , now its "stunna"...where are you comming up with these names??? Perhaps you ARE the real/original stunna! When "It's Blue" gets his tranny fixed perhaps you should run him?! If It's Blue is up for the challenge...???
Then when your final drive shatters you can do this all over again!!!! (sergio likes this!!! )
