Default hey guys tdc question

when the cam is set so that the markings are even with the head my cam slot should be facing up and down right guys?what i mean is the side with the dizzy should have the slots facing up and down correct.

i know that if you're looking at the cam gears, both arrows (assuming its dohc) will be pointing up. also the 2 marks on each gear will align with eachother to form a horizontal line.

what if your looking at the dizzy side?wil the cam shaft alignment marks with the dizzy be facing up and down?

The keyway slot on the intake cam faces up and down when cylinders #1 and #4 are at TDC.

The keyway slot on the cam is asymmetrical tho, allowing the distributor keyway to key into it ONLY one way. I forget which side the fat part of the keyway slot falls on with the cam gears set to TDC #1 tho.

To make sure everything is in order, set the cam gears to TDC #1 (UP arrows facing up), make sure the horizontal marks line up with the rear timing belt cover, set the distributor rotor to the #1 wire, and it should key in with little effort.

ok when the cam gear is set to tdc should any valves be open?it seems like #2 or #3 is slightly open i cant remeber which.
