Default Help...Surging idle.

Hey everyone, I have a 92 Civic CX with a sir2 swap. I was wondering what could cause a surging idle. The coolant does not seem to have any air in it, and the idle jumps from 1k to 3k. Evey now and then it will level out and idle at 2300. If anyone has any idea what is going on please let me know.

Thanks,
Dustin

If that don't help, there is plenty on irratic idle in the archive; just do a search, you'll be surprised.

it could be the intake manifold gasget....

spray some WD-40 or carb cleaner where the intake conects to the heads.... if the idle goes up... you have a leak....

you could also take off the throttle body and check the idle valve.... maybe its unscrewed or loose....

its the part of the throttle body that the anti freeze goes thru....

you should also do a hose and throttle body check... cover your throttle body and see if the idle changes... and pinch the air hoses....

i had the same problem... and oscar jackson from jackson racing told us how to fix it.....
