Ok, I search and nothing appears. I have a 96 Civic Ex Coupe and just bought a custom header. I want to run my pipe and exhaust 2.25". Right now my exhaust is 2" inlet. What do i need to get to straight piping? Anyone will the mods and kind enough to help this newbie out. thanks. Also, being in Cali, will my engine light show when i put a straight pipe with o2 bug intead of a cat?

You would gain 1 check engine light P0420, catalyst efficiency low. The computer will be pissed to see a straight pipe. Either hide that fact from the computer or run a cat.

Let's see, suppose you do run 'straight piping'. You live in Cali, man. Have you looked at the sky lately? You won't be able to pass inspection, and if a cop ever checks out your car, which they do, you'd get a huge fine, and you wouldn't be able to drive it until you fixed your 'straight piping'. The gains would be minimal, anyways. I'd look into getting a high flow cat that's CARB certified, if they even make such a thing.
I saw a thread recently about people getting pulled left and right in Santa Cruz (I think), and they couldn't drive until they went to the man for further inspection. Some people can't drive their cars until December, and that's if they pass.
It's soo not worth it.

how about using carsound cat and drill a hole to make a bug in o2 sensor and have a resonator too.
How is this setup.
1. Header
2. Flex Pipe
3. Carsound cat (legal) with o2 bug
4. Resonator
5. muffler
ALL 2.25"
Please comments on this thanks

What the hell is a o2 bug? It's bung, not bug.

I believe there are companies out there that make high flow cats with o2 bungs already.. so no need to drill your own. Also you dont need a flex pipe, you already have a flex joint (the connection between your header and cat + those two long bolts with springs), unless your 'custom' header doesnt have that. The way I see it is Header, Cat. Converter, Resonator, then Muffler. And make sure it's all 2.25" MANDREL BENT piping, and not CRUSH BENT.
