hey wassup guys i have a 91DA with a b18b (94ls) motor in it and i was wondering what would i expect from gettin a straight pipe put onto my car with stock exhaust?
and if i were going to do this what size piping should i get and would i be able to keep my cat on?

well first of all, if you got a straight pipe it would replace your catalytic converter.
if you are going to be N/A i recommend piping of 2.25 or 2.5
you will have minimal gains if you have just basic intake/header/exhaust but it does free up your exhaust from restrictions.
i'm selling a test pipe in my sig if you are interested.

Unless you were boosted, or something along the lines of a lot more power then stock,
there is No reason to even run a straigtpipe in place of the cat,
It will only become louder, and you won't feel any difference in power.

I think what this guy is asking is:
"can I run a stock cat (or high flow unit) with a custom cat-back straight pipe design?"
In either case, using a gutted cat, test pipe, etc is a waste of time, and REALLY stupid for you guys in CA. As for a custom cat-back sans any muffler, or resonators....... also a waste of time and money. If you want to improve your exhaust flow and still be CA legal, you will want to use off-the-shelf pieces (header, high flow converter, cat-back exhaust) with CARB certifications.
