Help with rounded out Head bolt!
Hi there. im having trouble removing a rounded out 14mm head bolt from my b16 head. i have able to reamove all the other 9, but this one didnt want to go. Now the head of the bolt is rounded out and cant get a grip with the socket. i bought IRWINs rounded off bolt grip remover socket kit, but at the end of the socket its hexagon so it wont fit in that aread. Does anybody have any advice?? thanks
there are these sockets that look like they have blades in them that you kinda knock on the nut and it locks on. i found them at advance auto, you can get them at sears too.
retighten some of the other bolts to help remove some load from the one you're trying to get loose. this may make any more efforts to remove the rounded one more effective.
I had this happen to me with an H22 head in the junkyard. I drilled the ****er out, it was the ONLY WAY.
I tried numerous other products and tricks. Drilling was my last resort, and the only thing that worked.

tighten down other bolts like suggested, then grind the hexagon off the bolt remover( Im assuming the irwins have a place to insert an extension?)...or buy a good set off the tool trucks that are round

GET A good socket snap on or mac with the flank drive.. friend had same issue and used a good socket from my shop and came off no problem.. he used 4 of his own sockets with no luck..
try getting a 13mm deep well and hammer it onto the nut, ive had to do that a couple times on head bolts,
but just curious, did u torque them right when u put em on and did u take the bolts off in the correct order? that could be your problem...
