Help Pls with strange starter issue
I cannot make sense of my issue so my car just sits...i just swapped a b16 block/head and hooked up the clutch trans etc got it installed and clipped in / grounded / connections cleaned, the starter was out of my last swap and worked fine.
I get random **** like last night it would dim the car down and turn really slow (all plugs out) then it just started clicking... ok bad starter? so I take the one out of my DD b18c engine i get nothing at all from it. so i put it back on the DD and it works fine. I shouldve put the starter in question on the DD but did not.
the engine turns freely with the crank pulley and very smooth (all plugs out)
I dont know what to do HT is my only source of getting this on track, ill check the fuse ive checked the wiring its in a vx eg the wiring is so basic.
when it was turning i was losing voltage at the battery (new batt.) and it dropped to 11.5 (fully charged batt.)
im not sure whats happened here it could be something stupid, it could be to the point i have to pull the entire swap out.

It's acting like a dead battery from the symtoms you're giving. The battery shouldn't drop that fast just from turning it over a few times. I would take the battery and have it tested. Double check your grounds as well.
Sounds like a grounding problem, check/redo your main grounds, [batt. post and cable clamp, batt. to chassis ground and chassis is to engine ground]
You can do a quick test, connect a jumper cable to the batt. neg. (-) the other end to the engine. try and start the engine. 94

Thanks all. Got it cranking and running after a full tear down. Issue lies in moisture in the relays or some kind
Of grounding issue. Had to
Flick the key on and off a bunch of
Times and check everything
