new swap starter problem help!
I just hooked up a b16a swap in my EG, for some reason everything lights up good and fuel primes but when i go to turn the starter everything dims and the voltage on my meter shows under 12 while cranking. I cant figure this out right now.
ive hooked a new battery in line with my already new battery to ensure maximum voltage and no change, all grounds are connected and wiring connected. I did have the trans and fly wheel off but put it back on the same way. its turning over the correct way and everything.
any ideas greatly appretiated

I'm pulling the starter and seeing if this happens only when turning the flywheel. Possibly trying another starter but what else?

There are 2 types of grounds that you need to start the engine up: chasis-to-engine, and chasis-to-battery terminals. Also, have you pulled the starter cable off and cleaned it on both ends?

Re: new swap starter problem help!
something is just whacked, i pull the starter out and its dead (thought i could hook a 12v source and test a starter out of car anytime?) or even just jumper the solenoid and crank a crate swap to check its health. is this tru?
i bolt it back into the trans housing and again slow to turn over and everything dims....(but out of the car nothing at all?) i dont imagine it being bolted up matters? probably tomorrow ill pull the starter out of my DD but its getting rediculas wtf.
this starter turned over no problem before....all the plugs are out. with just the compression gauge in one cyl it barely turns over. very slow. but enough to show i got compression in that cyl atleast
