Default HELP Please: Honda ECU, what does it control?

Are any of the following components controlled or require the ECU (specifically '94 accord)?
speedo (including all gauges in there)
alternator
abs
airbag system
cruise control

Since we're trying to completely remove the ECU and run a standalone, I'm stumped as to what I can actually keep of the 'luxury' items.

Thanks.

None of these items you list, require the stock honda ECU to control them.

So...what I'm hoping is that the last builder just cut the wires under the dash for the ECU and I don't have to worry about the cut wires. I'll have to have him look at the wiring diagrams and find out for sure. If it turns out to be only the wires to the ECU that were cut, then I should not have to worry about anything?

Is there any detailed information on this?

Cruise, ABS, and SRS have their own control units completely separate from the ECU. I know that the Vehicle Speed Sensor is connected to the ECU, but I'm not sure as to the extent.

Thanks. That's the basic reply I've gotten from people. Most believe all except speedo/tach don't go through the stock ecu. Some feel that the cruise control MIGHT go through, but not sure.

The AC does but I think it will still work with the ecu.. I know it tells the ecu that its on so that it can raise the idle..

I dont mean that the AC will work without the ecu since the car isnt going to run without it...... You know what I mean..

Get an ecu pinout for your car and see what wires go to the ecu and that will give you a better idea of what the ecu controls..

ECU controls all sensors and components on motor:

MAP, TPS, VTEC oil pressure, VTEC solenoid, Oil pressure sending unit, Knock sensor, IAT, IACV, injectors and resistor(if applicable), coolant temp sensor, coolant temp sending unit, cooling fan switch, power steering pressure switch, a/c fan switch, distributor, crank position sensor, IAB, EVAP purge solenoid, speed sensor, O2 sensor(s), whatever that green plug on the back of B17's is, and that's about all I can think of.
