help, no vtec and early redline, no CEL's

help, no vtec and early redline, no CEL's
99 DX
d16y8 swap
99-00 P2P ECU
did all the right changes to the wire harness
wired vtec(checked over and over again)
wired knock
now im not getting vtec and redline is at 6800 which is early
NO CEL's
ive tried a different ecu vtec solenoid and vtec oil pressure switch with no luck
ahhhhhh its so frustrating
help anyone???

I've had this same problem on a d16z w/p28 ecu...except the redline will vary from 4400 to 6000 depending on temperature. No CELs either...
A friend said to check the clearances on the sensors in the bottom half of the distributor...I haven't tried this yet.
