hey guys i just picked up a b18a1 w/ 240k. it's in good shape i got to test drive it before he pulled it out for me. well before i install it in my car. I wanna add acl bearings, ARP rod bolts, Cometic head gasket, and ARP head studs. this motor will be turbo and just deciding to add a little insurance. This is going to be my first time doing something like this it would be great for some advice and I got a few questions to ask you more experience guys. when i replace the bearings does the block needs to be send to the shop for any work or can i just remove the old one n put the new one in ? Replacing the head gaskets I no the head needs to be send to the shop to be deck anything else i should do while is there? And last question, should i replace the timing belt and water pump the previous owner said it was done about 25k ago.

I did all this to my b18b1 and it runs like a champ and currently in the process of boosting her.

 

Why do you not just go ahead and get new pistons and rods if you're going to do all of that?
