Help me please. JDM GSR problems.
I bought a JDM engine and when I installed it in my 93 hatch, I realised that the engine was orininally mated to an automitic tranny in Japan.
Yes, it's possible to have automatic GSR in Japan. For those who don't beleive me, just check a japanese used car web site...
One example between a lot: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade...2.htm
ENGINE CODE: B18C JDM
TRANNY: B18C1 USDM 1995
ECU: B18C1 1995 (P72)
SPARK PLUGS: brand new
CATALYTIC CONVERTER: yes (unclogged)
CAI: yes
HEADERS: no
EXHAUST: integra GSR (2")
MUFFLER: Dynomax super turbo 2"
COMPRESSION: 200-200-200-200
OIL CONSUMPTION: None
VACUUM: 21 inches
GAS: premium 91 octane
FUEL CONSUMPTION: 265 miles / tank
TIMING BELT: P72 Honda properly installed
After 10 GTECH runs, I couldn't do better than 15.3@94 MPH, which is pure crap for this engine. So, I though that maybe because of the automatic design, the cams could be different, just like the old automatic B16A.
So I put 2000 SiR cams in it, chipped the ECU to run like a B16A2 2000. I mean that I took the GSR fuel map with the SiR ignition and couldn't better that 15.3@94MPH again.
I tried a LOT of programs but the thing never went better. It is very slow in the low end I mean that going from a stop sign in 2nd is very loooog, nothing happens until 5800 RPM.
On the GTECH, I have 111 whp and 89 lbs-ft tq.
Does someone have any idea what could I check now?
