Default help major backfire....(long)

let me list my mods first.....
9:1 je pistons, eagle rods, ferrera valves.springs. and retainers, RC 310 injectors, LS tranny..the car is a 95 GSR..engine has 5K on it..Fields vtec controller -20% No FPR. B&m fuel pressure guage(guage reads 60-65psi) motor is built up for turbo that im piecing together...

now on my way home from work today i was driving home from work today. everything normal been driving the car all day. but on my way home i make a u turn. i stay in 2nd gear going in and comming out of the u turn. as i give the car gas is starts to bog and stutter and backfires big time. im like oh ****. so i shifted to 3rd and its good until i give it some gas then back fires again and stutters, go to fourth and the same thing then the car just floats(engine is still on) and i rev up to 4K but the car doesnt move, so i pull over and cut the car off. i count to 30 car starts back up normally. so go to 1st and its fine, go to 2nd and it starts again. so i make it to third but keep the rpms under 3K and it just cruises fine. i hit a red light. 1st stutters and bogs, same thing through 5th gear. so then the CEL and Oil light comes on..Im like oh **** please dont seize up..cut the car off wait 2 minutes and check the oil. its a little low but still above the lower hole. so i added a quart of Mobil one(always keep oil with me) brings it up to center. sent for awhile cut the car on and everything is fine. start driving and it bog, stutter, and backfired all the way home. which was less than a mile. when i get home they tell me that i backfired fireballs like the fast and the furious. we started talking and we figure im pumping to much fuel and im going to get a FPR tomorrow and some new spark plugs. do any of you guys think that this may solve my problem or are we wrong.

60-65psi seems kinda high on the FP Check your plugs and make sure they're gapped correctly, you might be misfiring. L8R

Damn I didn't read the last few sentences of your post Sounds like you have unburnt gases making it to your cat, where they then burn off....would explain the flames from the exhaust.

40psi seems too low, at least 44psi. then you should be fine
