Default HELP!!! Losing oil fast...

I own a 94 GSR with basic bolt-ons (I/H/E), and recently have been experiencing heavy oil consumption (about 3/4 of quart after 600-700 miles), but with no power loss. There are no oil leaks anywhere on or underneath the engine, and there is no colored smoke for the most part unless I really get on it (then I sometimes get small puffs of blackish gray smoke). My car has about 90000 miles on it, and gets serviced regularly. Any ideas on this prob? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do a compression or leakdown test on the motor. Run a search here to find more about compression and leakdown tests as there are much better explanations floating around here than I can offer.

Agreed, compression test will tell you whether or not your rings are not sealing well in a particular cylinder or poor compression in certain areas may reflect a head gasket issue. Even if you are losing some oil through the rings, you are not going to see a ton of smoke if you are still running a cat. I probably burn right around that much oil on my 140k mile motor, and have been since 100,000 or so miles. Be sure to check coolant for oil as well.

Have someone follow behind you, and drive it almost redline, see if they see any smoke from exhaust.
