I am probably going to buy a used blcok sometime this week. It is a B18c. What do I need to look for to make sure that nothing is signifigantly wrong with the block? I dont want to buy a bad block.

Its hard to tell by just looking at the block. Just look for obvious cracks and anything out of the ordinary. The block could look fine, but it is possible for it to be hiding a bent rod.

 

This doesn't have to do with your block or anything, but try to avoid useless posts like this since you only have five a day for now.

For the block, make sure it's not stolen. Did they do a compression test on the motor?

And I'm guessing you're getting a JDM ITR motor since you said B18C, unless you meant USDM GSR which is B18C1.
