please tell every step i need to install a tach thanks i want to make sure i can do it before i buy a 150 tach thanks

Why do you want to purchase a 150.00 tach?
What car is it going in?

There are better ways to spend your money and still be able to monitor your RPM's
I would look into a AFC with the capability to monitor RPMs 250 bux.

here you go
red wire to switched power when you turn ignition to on position
black to ground
green wire to negative terminal on distributor
white to be tapped in where your illumination light goes on so that your tach will have light
