Default LIFTER PRICE QUESTIONS

hey how much do lifters for a b series head usually run? i need all 8....i was quoted around 300 for them....that seems a bit high

Ya know man, they push up on the pushrods Where can i fine some B series pushrods, LOL.

hondas have roller lifters dont they? im not tryin to be stupid....a shop told me a pinging from my b16 head is from the lifters......i called gillman honda in houston, they told me 300 for a set.....so there are obviously lifters in a honda.....i think they are rollers though....they arent hydralic

Sounds like someone is trying to seperate you from your money.

You just need a valve adjustment.

yup, make sure the valve adjustment is done when the engine is cold.

If the valve adjustment is done right, and you still hear that "pinging or ticking in the head.. then the problem would be the Lost Motion Assemblies. LMA's act as a damper for the VTEC rocker.

I wonder if LMA's are near $300 for a set. Thats probably what the shop was talking about.

Honda doesn't use lifters on OHC motors.

they do on the 95-97 V6- not rollers though-you probably need a valve adjustment.
