Default Whats the better swap?

i currently own a mint 93 civic 4dr. Its auto and was wondering if it were to be easier to do a 5speed swap or just swap out the z6 auto for like a gsr auto. Cool idea or stupid. jw

also if to do gsr auto what mounts do i need to use?

Honestly, it'd be easier to just sell the car and buy a manual. However, if you absolutely must keep the car(seems like it'd be worth considering given its condition and the fact that you know the vehicle history), an auto>manual swap will probably run $1000+ in labor at a reputable shop, plus the cost of the necessary parts. As far as I know, there was never an automatic GSR sold in the US, so if you wanted an automatic B18C1 swap, you'd have to mate it to an LS auto tranny. Of course, then you would have to find some way of controlling a B18C1 with an auto tranny, since there are no automatic GSR ECU's, and an automatic LS ECU won't work so well for the engine. You could also do an automatic LS swap which should drop in, but it might be hard to find a complete automatic swap, and if you're going through the trouble to swap out an engine, it seems like a waste not to go manual.

So basically, your options are:
1) Sell the car and buy a manual
2) Manual D series tranny swap(Z6, Y8, etc.)
3) Automatic LS swap
4) B series VTEC swap + auto>manual conversion

I would personally lean toward finding a car with a manual tranny that would be a good foundation for a B series swap.
