Default Automatic Swap

i have an automatic civic. the engine is a SOHC VTEC. i want a GSR swap(i was wondering if i could put an automatic LS tranny with the GSR??????????), but they don't come in automatic only manual. Then i see that LS's come in automatic and i just need to know every thing i could get?

You could use an LS auto tranny, but it wouldn't hold up very well and besides the gearing would never let you see the potential that the GSR motor has. If you want to stay auto, check with some importers and get an auto B16A or B18C tranny and matching ECU. Most importers sell the auto swaps they get as longblocks and ditch the trannys, so you could probably get one pretty cheap.

well if i were you i would just swap in a B20 or LS auto because since you car is auto you will rarely ever get into "vtec" if you do do that alot your auto tranny will not last you long.

If you got a LS/B20 it would be much faster than an auto GSR/auto B16.

I'm telling you this because my brother is in the same situation.

the tranny it self and motor will last bro. But what i said is that if you race/beat your tranny alot when you wanna get into vtec the TRANNY will not last very long at all!

No matter what in the long run it's better to go 5spd. But autos can be fast, just don't beat up the tranny a lot. Understand?
