I have a 00 Civic Si. Just washed my engine yesterday. Of course I covered the fuse box, air intake, distributor, then let the engine dry for like 3-4 hours in the hot sun. Now, the engine sounds like it is misfiring. Can anyone relate to this problem? Could I not have gotten water in the distributor?

 

water in the area around the spark plugs, also clean the distributor and plug wires. if carbon gets on these it will cause it to arc to it, if you dont believe me take a pencil to your friend or enemies distributor

next time just use a wet rag

 

could that have put him in "limp" mode? i had to reset my ECU...
