I need a little help...
Well the B20 is finally going in tomorrow morning....Everything is hooked up except for this one part (I cant think of the name). It is conected to the large vacume hose coming out of the plenum of the intake manifold...its a valve looking thingy...On pre-1996 motors it ran into the oil catch can (black box) on the back of the block. Now I am running a 98 block and it doesn't have the "black box", so where should I run that valve thingy to? I know the 96+ manifolds had them cause we have severl disasembled 96+ motors laying around...but since they are disasebled I cant tell were it runs to.
Can someone please go pop thier hood and see?

are you talkin about the pcv?
crv and ls blocks don't have back boxes, the pvc is on the valve cover.
is that the answer you are lookin for?

Yes, there we go, its the PCV valve... And yes pre-96 LS blocks do have the black box on the back, I know cause I have 2 LS blocks with them. Anyways, the PCV valve is concected to that lard vacume hose coming out of the manifold, but where does the other end go under the manifold?
What are you talking about in the manifold? My 98 B20 came with one comeing out of the manifold (but I don't remeber were it lead to), and my friends dissasembled 96 LS manifold has one in the same location.

Is that what your talking about? My manifold doesn't have a hole there....What should I do with this PCV valve? Anyone? HELP!!! I NEED To KNOW SOOON!!!!!!!!!!
this is what you should do the fitting behind the block where the oil seperator is you take the plug out and either put a factory oil seperator from one of you ls blocks on it or buy a catch can and hook it up like in the diagram
i would take the plug out and run a hose from where the plug was to a catch tank and then put the pcv valve in the catch tank and then from the pcv valve back to the intake
here is a pick of a b18c with the oil seperator on it see the tube comming from the block to the oil seperator (the other hole is for the pcv valve to fit in and frm there it is goes back to the intake )
sorry for all the writhing kind of hard to explaine in words hope this helps

Would it cause much harm if for now (until payday) I just ran the PCV valve inline between the valve cover (from where the intake usually goes into it) and the manfold, then plug the hole on the intake? I need something to get me by....On payday I plan on buying a catchcan.
If it were as easy as just instaling one of my stock "black boxes" I would....but it looks to me like I would have to drill and tap a hole for that other hose coming out of the box.

i think you woud be safe not sure though since the hose from the valve cover to the intake wont be there but i could be wrong
i think you should be fine

Its a B20Vtec....I will post some pics tonight of the install if it goes good....I sure hope it dose, for some stupid reason Im planning on driving it to the other side of the state tomorow (about 300 miles round trip) to see my girlfriend at school...
I have never had any big problems with any of the swaps I have done so I don't see anything going bad with this one,

i couldnt tell you about how to get by for now, sorry. i just know how i did my permanent setup.
what kind of pcv setup are you going to do when payday comes? are you aware of the endyn breather kit? there is no drilling with it and i am told it is pretty easy to install.
is this a freshly assembled motor as in it needs a break in period?

Well I got her all in today...I ended up just running the PCV valve inline between the ITM and Valve cover. Im going to buy a kit similar to the endyne kit (the one Veren sells)
Here are some pic if anyone cares to see them

Oh, its a stock JDM b20b with a P & P Vtec head....pretty much a stock motor, but it pulls HARD compared to my old motor (LS/Vtec).

oh i need an icm?

Well with the PCV valve hooked up like I had it, the block whould build up enough pressure to BLOW the dipstick out of the dipstick tupe sraying some oil over my nice clean motor....I took the PCV valve out, pluged the big vacume hole on the intake manifold with a expanding rubber plug, and bought a APC ( I swore I would never buy that crap, but it came in handy) breather filter and put it on the valve cover....I no longer have any problems with the dip stick or pressure. I have drove it several hundred miles since I did that (yesterday) and its fine.
