HELP: Engine Cranks but wont start
ok guys. My sister tried backing my manual car (2001 prelude) out of our driveway (she never drives manual) anyways she stalled and came to get me so I could move it.
I put the key in, turn the ignition and this loud squealing (belt rubbing) sound starts emmiting and my car doesn't start. I pop the hood and have a friend turn the ignition. My engine cranks (the crankshaft pully is turning) but the belt doesnt turn and there is a loud squeal. My alternator pulley doesnt turn (which im guessing is normal since the belt is not moving) and the 3rd pully tied to this belt (which im guess is the distributer? But im not sure) is also not turning and Im thinking this may be the problem.
Anyone have any ideas at all about this?
PS. this is deff not a battery problem.
THANKS A TON FOR THE HELP!

I had the timing belt replaced last year along with all the other **** that comes with it. Also, the engine appears to start for a fraction of a sec (I see the RPM's jump on my cluster) then just dies and the crank pulley turns, just not the belt attached to it.
I've ruled out the alternator as a problem. I took a ratchet to the pulley and it turned so it isn't seized.
The last thing I can think of is maybe the Free-spin bearing on the A/C compressor is jammed and that's causing that pulley to not turn (thus holding the crank/alternator belt in place)?
any ideas ?

either your timing belt broke or you might have a seized pulley..... a/c compressor, alternator, power steering pump.
remove the belts and try turning them...
a video would help us lotss.
