Default Help, did not pass emissions...

That test shows:

Cruise | HC | CO | CO + Co2

Limit |0220| Passed

Emissions |0056| Passed

---------------------------------------

Idle |0220| Passed

Emissions |0253| Passed

^
This part did not pass. (HC (ppm))

If someone knows what the hell this means, and how I can fix it that would be great, thanks!

If you failed HC this means you had too much unburned fuel leaving the exhaust (hydrocarbons). This can be from a failed converter, rich mixture, inaccurate O2 sensor, excessive blowby, etc.

fixhondas: Thanks, good info. Very helpful...

I did some research. Decided to change plugs, rotor, cap, and PCV valve. My MSD ingnition doesn't effect the emissions - so that cancels out. I am planning on doing cardon clean up, then take a long drive to clear out all the junk. If this doesn't work I will keep it posted. Until' then, please add some input on what else I can try. Thanks guys.

Your msd controls spark and spark plays a big role in emissions. It would be interesting to see the difference with the msd bypassed.

Would an MSD ignition play a good role or bad, my manager says it should make emissions easier to pass. He's a certified mechanic.

It could play either role- it depends on how well it works with commands from the ecu/distributor.

I retook the test - passed!

All I changed was PCV valve and distributor cap and rotor.
