Default HELP!!! D16A6.

So, my CRX has almost 200,000 miles, and just recently it started to overheat. I went and bought a new thermostat, and it was burning quite a bit of oil so i bought the distributor O-ring. i poured water in my radiator, and went for a test drive and everything seemed fine. that was 2 nights ago.

Today, im driving probably for almost 10 minutes, everythings fine, and i park and go inside. when i go to leave again, i notice my temperature shooting up. so i pulled over and filled my radiator with some more water and it worked for probably another 10 minutes before raising temp again. Im thinking it could either be the head gasket, or theres a leak. But 200,000 miles, is it worth it to just put on a new gasket?

PLEASE HELP!

When you changed the thermostat and added water did you fill up the radiator, start the car and let it run. Then waited till you saw water moving and added more water to the top and then capped it?

You might have trapped a air bubble in the system.
Also did you bleed the system with the bleeder valve?
