Need help, car wont start, prolly a n00b question
I have a 93 Civic DX (100 percent stock). I was doing a 3 point turn, and when I put it into 1st to finish it up, it just died. Now it won't start up anymore.
I checked for fuel, and sure enuf, I have it. I didn't really check for spark, because I don't have a 2nd person, but I took a spark plug out, and forgot about it, put the wires back in, and started it up, one of them jumped out (the one with no spark plug). I guess that means I have spark? Dunno. My spark plug looks a lotta used. ImportHatch told me it's either Fuel (which I have), Spark (which I think I have), and timing (which I don't know why it would **** up for no reason?).
Anyone wanna help a n00b.

Actually, if you hear clicks that's your starter solenoid atempting to crank the starter, thus voltage is being drawn out of your battery. If it won't turn over at all, your distributor probably committed suicide. It takes appx. 3 minutes to take the distributor cap off: do it and see what's up in there.

Get a friend so that you can check for spark and narrow down to your distributor. If I'm understanding correctly and you starter is trying to start then the comp of the cylinder would explain the plug wire popping out, not spark. Get a friend, check for spark, and then go to work on the distributor.

Well I got the distributor off. What should I be looking for? People been telling me that it's probably the box with the spring in it. The Ignition Coil Assembly?

You need to make sure the cap is in good condition, the rotor's contact points are good and not cracked. Then the easy way to check the coil and ICM would be to swap them out with a friend who has a 92-95 Civic to see if one of them is the problem. Swap them one at a time and see if either works. I had a similar problem recently and it was in fact the coil.

Re: (ill phil)
The thing on the rotor (no idea what its called) that has the metal in between the two white peices is like a brown color. Normal for a 125K+ mileage vehicle?
